This is Happening

My reluctant gardening effort is starting to thrive! I’m trying my best not to obsess about watching sprouts emerge from the dirt…really trying here.

Green Beans!

I also decided that one lettuce crop wouldn’t be enough, so I planted a lettuce bowl too!

Little lettuces

The Cherokee Purple tomato plant has begun to blossom!

Radishes and Cucumbers

And…the Calla Lillies look so happy now! They were looking a little miserable in the backyard, so I dug them up, repotted them, and moved them to the front walkway.

I’m really digging this gardening thing!

March Showers bring April Flowers

I thought the song went: “when April showers come your way, they bring the flowers, that bloom in May…”? We’ve had quite a bit of rain this winter and early spring. The dogwoods have finished their lovely bloom, and now come the irises.

These came straight out of my walkway. Everything is coming up early, due to our piss poor winter season. Not that I’m complaining. Walking through the backyard, I found these survivors from last year’s garden attempt.

Strawberries

Raspberries

And someone has been busy destroying my hostas!

Everyone loves being outside…

Meadow says: "Yeeeaaahh, boyeeee!
