Yesterday, I played around with making bread.
I found a recipe for Dakota Bread (one of my favorites) on Savvy Baker. The only issue I had with the recipe, is that it requires a bread maker. It also states to “follow the manufacturer’s instructions”. Well, I don’t own a bread maker, I don’t plan on owning one, I don’t want one! What’s a girl to do? So I just threw the dry ingredients into my stand mixer, and incorporated the wet. The dough came together OK; I under measured the water, and quickly added more…un-measured. I need to work on that! I also did not knead the bread well. I got distracted by unexpected company.
The loaves were a little smaller than I had anticipated; but the bread tasted great. Click the link, and give this recipe a whirl!
Enjoy!
