It’s been rough. I’ve been living like a vampire the last few weeks! I’m down to 2 summer jobs; but I still seem to be very busy. Last weekend was the first stretch of day time hours spent awake. I love working overnights; but I do miss the sunshine.

Speaking of sunshine…last fall, I had the bright idea of painting our bedroom a “punchy” yellow. Well, it was punchy alright. Like makes me wanna punch myself in the face for picking such a hideous school bus yellow!

This was my inspiration:

I’m really feeling the whole yellow and gray theme. I had high hopes! My effort was an epic fail. Notice that there are no “real” life pictures our bedroom.

This weekend, I had a jolt of motivation. I decided to transform our bedroom from epic failure, to this:

Ahhhh. It turned out great! We now love the soothing and subtle aqua color. The room still needs a little finessing: new linens, quarter rounds, and maybe a new overhead light fixture. If you look too closely, you will notice the floor is a hot mess. That’s next on our list…
